VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP SHEET

Dear Prospective 2017 Meridian Winter Blast Volunteers,

The 2017 Meridian Winter Blast, presented by Quicken Loans, will again present a memorable festival with something for everyone and numerous community benefits.  

Located once again at beautiful Campus Martius in Detroit, we plan to create another year of spectacular food, music and various winter activities! Thank you for sharing your valuable time, energy, and enthusiasm by spending part of your weekend with us. It is the passion and dedication of volunteers like you that make this event a success year after year!

Please review the dates and times below and let us know when you can volunteer. We would be grateful if you were able to do at least two shifts, but are thankful for what you can give.  Each volunteer will receive a Meridian Winter Blast Hat as well as a Parking Pass.

Position Descriptions:

Slide: Volunteers will be assisting festival goers with knowing when they can go on the slide by signaling them. We will do this by having a few individuals standing at the top of the slide and a few at the bottom. The basic job is to make sure everyone is safe while going down the slide. This position will require you to be on your feet and outdoors for a period of time.

Ice Maze: Volunteers will be explaining to festival goers what the Ice Maze is, and how they will need to go through it to make it to the other end. This position will require you to be on your feet outdoors for a period of time.

Information Booth: Volunteers will be positioned at information booths answering questions from festival goers. You will be provided with a map of all needed information. This is a great position for those that need to sit, and will also give you a chance to interact with those at the festival!

Red Wings Fan Fest Area: There will be a series of activities and games taking place in the Red Wings Fan Fest Area such as: Bubble Hockey, Alumni Autographs, Photo Op with Classic Cut outs, and testing your hockey shot accuracy with Top Shot Electronic Hockey Net. This position will require you to stand on your feet for a period of time. If you love to interact with people and are able to get around easily, you will love doing this! This area will have different hours than the festival, which is noted in the shifts listed.  The times are as follows: Friday from 4pm to 10pm, Saturday from 11am to 10pm, and Sunday from 11am to 8pm.

Volunteer Holding Area: We will need 1 person each shift to sit by the door of the holding area in order to let volunteers into the building when the door locks. This is a great position for those that need to sit.
