KIDS ZONE
There's plenty of fun for kids at Motown Winter Blast! Featuring all the fun of the MWB Winter Experience, the Walmart Family Stage, a Winter Carnival, and much more! This years schedule includes a variety of shows featuring puppeteers, magicians, jugglers and comedians. Jo-Jo Fish and Billy Goats Gruff will fascinate youngsters with their puppet theatre. Magic performances from Pure Imagination Magic Show and Cool Tricks & Funny Stuff will delight children and parents alike. Plus Radio Disney will amaze with their fun interactive performances, courtesy of DMC.
NEW THIS YEAR: READING IS A BLAST
Literacy is not only crucial to success, but a lot of fun, too! This year, the General Motors Foundation will present “Reading is a Blast” to story lovers of all ages. The program will feature a children’s book collection drive to complement existing festival charity initiatives and will also make reading a featured event on the Winter Blast family stage. An exciting list of celebrities will be on-hand to read throughout the weekend, including: Detroit First Lady Yvette Bing, City of Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee, former Detroit Pistons power forward Rick Mahorn, and University of Detroit Mercy men’s basketball head coach Ray McCallum, who will be accompanied by university mascot, Tommy, and radio personalities from WJLB, Mix 92.3 and Channel 95.5!

Friday
4:00pm Reading is a Blast: Detroit First Lady Yvette Bing will be reading her favorite children's book.
4:30pm Rosco the Clown: Michigan’s Favorite Clown will tickle your funny bone with jokes, audience participation, and lots of giggle-inducing fun.
5:00pm Reading is a Blast: Detroit Police Department Chief Ralph Godbee and Renee Vitale of Fresh 100 will be reading their favorite children's books to the audience.
5:30pm Ventriloquist Vikki Gasko: Ventriloquist Vikki Gasko-Green and her colorful cast of characters will have every member of the family laughing and involved.
6:00pm Reading is a Blast: Channel 955’s very own Joe Rosati will be reading his favorite children’s book to the audience.
6:30pm Cool Tricks & Funny Stuff: Be amazed and amused with a high energy show filled with comedy and magic by nationally acclaimed entertainer, Chris Linn.
Saturday
12-3pm Radio Disney "Radio Disney will be hosting fun science themed games and giving away cool prizes inside the Compuware Atrium. Families can also take part in an exclusive pre-premiere screening of Disney XD’s Lab Rats – which will be shown at the top of each hour! One lucky family will also take home an electronics and gadgets package sizeable enough to build their very own bionic lab valued at $500!
Families will also enjoy Disney themed temporary tattoos, special Lab Rats themed prizing and tissue packets – courtesy of DMC!

4:30pm Puppet Theatre: Jo-Jo Fish These shows are fast paced fun for all ages with a story line that keeps kids involved in every moment of the production. Music, special effects, and colorful props keep these live puppet shows interactive and engaging.
5:00pm Reading is a Blast: WJR's Paul W. Smith will be reading his favorite children’s book and speaking to the audience.
5:30pm Laugh It Up with Rosco Michigan’s Favorite Clown will tickle your funny bone with jokes, audience participation, and lots of giggle-inducing fun.
6:00pm Reading is a Blast: Former Detroit Piston greats Rick Mahorn and Rasheed Wallace will be reading their favorite children's books and speaking to the audience.
6:30pm Puppet Theatre: Punch & Judy: These shows are fast paced fun for all ages with a story line that keeps kids involved in every moment of the production. Music, special effects, and colorful props keep these live puppet shows interactive and engaging.
Sunday
