There's plenty of fun for kids at Motown Winter Blast!  Featuring the Meijer Family Stage, Winter Blast-Off presented by GM Foundation, a Winter Carnival, Great Expressions Hockey Shot and much more!  

Meijer Kids Stage

This years schedule includes a variety of shows featuring , magicians, jugglers and comedians.  Magic performances from Pure Imagination Magic Show and Cool Tricks & Funny Stuff will delight children and parents alike.  Plus Radio Disney will amaze with their fun interactive performances, courtesy of DMC.

Radio Disney

Radio Disney Detroit, part of the #1 radio network for kids, tweens and families, joins in on the fun with Children’s Hospital of Michigan, part of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) on February 8 and 9 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The Radio Disney Junior Road Crew will be on-site with interactive entertainment themed around the hit Disney Junior series "Doc McStuffins" including a stuffed animal and toy check-up station where kids can check their toys' height, reflexes and heart beat. Additionally, kids and families are invited to play games such as "Name That Disney Junior Song"," "Name That Doc McStuffins Character" and more.

Great Expressions Hockey Shot Competition

The hockey activities don’t stop there: the Winter Blast is challenging festivalgoers with a Hockey Shot competition, presented by Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC). Throughout the weekend, attendees will have a chance to shoot and score cool prizes from Great Expressions, the Winter Blast and Detroit Red Wings. The grand prize winner will get a choice of a free set of braces or a dental care package from Great Expressions Dental Centers worth $5000. Each person who participates in the competition, taking place on the Campus Martius Park ice rink on Friday, Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m., will receive a GEDC t-shirt and smile bag for all their mouth-care needs.

 

WINTER KIDDIE CARNIVAL

There's more outdoor fun at the Winter Kiddie Carnival!  This year's carnival features four outdoor games and five rides, including a Merry-Go-Round and Crocodile Coaster.  Carnival Rides are $2 each.

WINTER BLAST OFF

Come and have a Blast with Mad Science during the Winter Blast 2014!  Located in the Cadillac Square Tent in Campus Martius Park. 

Fire & Ice Show:

Children will be dazzled by the impressive science demonstrations in this spectacular show! From foggy dry ice storms and gravity-defying beach balls to a Mad Science burp-flavored potion, audiences will be amazed by what they see, hear, and ugh… taste! (Show to run every 90 minutes starting at 5 pm Friday and noon Saturday and Sunday.)

Hands-on Science Fun Stations:

Slime:  The Mad Science slime recipe is revealed in this ooey gooey chemistry!  Free slime take home for all the kids!

Color Changing Lab:  Winter fun!  Winter sun! Learn about the effects of the sun as you make your own UV bead bracelet!

Bubbling Potions:  Ever see scissors sizzle and shiver? Ever taken a bubble shower? Here’s your chance!

Science Trivia: Test your science knowledge!  Win fun prizes at the Mad Science Fun Stations…The educators at Mad Science will develop trivia for kids based on age contestants being chosen from the audience of a similar age group to compete for cool Winter Blast prizes (hot chocolate, carnival rides, marshmallow packets and more).
