| Detroits music scene will be on display on the Fifth Third Bank Stage, the Michigan Lottery Stage, and the Comcast Stage, with more than 75 entertainment acts performing. A new addition to the event this year will be the Winter Blast Film Festival, located in a tent in just west of Campus Martius Park. This festival will feature films about Detroit from both local and international talent. Detroits Winter Blast introduces unusual winter activities in an urban setting, as the festival once again offers dog sledding exhibitions and free snowshoeing, as well as snowboarding exhibitions. Youll once again enjoy great food from 20 restaurants and caterers in the Chrysler Jeep Dodge Taste of Detroit tent and throughout the site. You can always find a place to warm-up with DTE Energys Comfort Zones. Youll find heat every 150 feet on the Winter Blast site, including both heated tents and warming stations in local buildings. Detroits Winter Blast proudly welcomes back the Pure Michigan exhibit, featuring performances from statewide talent and Michigan tourism exhibits, inside the Compuware Building. This year's festival will take place in and around Campus Martius Park, and throughout Downtown Detroit.
The 2008 Detroit's Winter Blast will be promoted by a stellar marketing campaign with local media partners providing significant publicity. More than 450,000 guests are expected to attend the 2008 festival. We hope you join us as we entertain thousands of local metro Detroiters celebrating winter in Detroit with fun events and attractions!
Detroit's Winter Blast, produced by Jonathan Witz & Associates, was developed to create an innovative backdrop for Super Bowl XL. This signature wintertime festival debuted in January of 2005 to kick off the official countdown to Super Bowl XL in Detroit. This first time event attracted more than 200,000 people and featured a combination of hip and fun seasonal events that celebrated all things Detroit. The 2006 Motown Winter Blast was an even bigger hit, attracting nearly 1 million Metro-Detroiters and out-of-town guests during Super Bowl XL. The 2007 Detroits Winter Blast was developed to keep the spirit of Super Bowl XL alive in the city, and developed new programs designed to promote events through out the city.
We would like to thank our title sponsors Daimler Chrysler Corporation Fund, michigan.org, Pure Michigan and DTE Energy, along with all of our sponsors and media partners for their tremendous support of Detroit's Winter Blast. We also thank the City of Detroit for promoting this positive experience for Detroit and our entire region.
