Winter Blast is teaming up with Matrix Human Services and the Grosse Pointe Rotary Club’s 3 Million Pound Challenge to donate to those in need this winter.  There is a “charge” to enter Motown Winter Blast this year, but the cost is a donation to Matrix Human Services and the 3 Million Pound Challenge.  Entrants can donate the following to gain admission:

• A new or gently used article of clothing
• A canned food item
• A book
• $1 that will be donated directly to Matrix Human Services to help those in need

Matrix Human Services (est. 1906) is an organization that serves as a shared support system for a wide range of programs. Each program has its own unique identity, focus and oversight, yet the common denominator of each program is the same: improving the quality of life for all ages.  Through the combined efforts of more than 300 staff working in more than twenty (20) locations and hundreds of volunteers and donors in the Metropolitan Detroit community they are able to directly deliver the services that make a difference.  Programs include LifeHouse, Matrix Partnerships for Housing, Reuther Older Adult and Wellness Services, Women ARISE, Head Start fatherhood Initiatives, Barat House, Off the Streets, Connecting Families, the Youth Assistance Program and many more.
