AT THE RINK

Campus Martius Rink is the center of all of your favorite Meridian Winter Blast activities!

FREE SKATING PROVIDED BY ST. JOHN PROVIDENCE

It's the only weekend you can skate for free at Campus Martius Park!  Bring your skates and join in the fun in Downtown Detroit.  Warm up your skating skills and get healthy courtesy of St. John Providence. If you need to rent skates, they are available for $3.

 

SKATING EXHIBITIONS

Local professional and amateur figure skaters will be showcased as part of the Ice Skating Exhibitions during skating breaks at the rinkThis year's exhibition schedule includes:

Friday, January 20

8pm:  Detroit Skate Club

 

Saturday, January 21

2pm: Detroit Skate Club

4pm: Detroit Skate Club

 

Sunday, January 22

1pm: New Edge Figure Skating Club

3pm: Creative Edge Teams

 

New Edge Figure Skating Club - skates out of the John Lindell Ice Arena in Royal Oak, MI.                             The club includes young beginners through Adult who have participated in local, regional and national competitions. Each skater at Winter Blast will be performing an individual free skate program.

The Creative Edge Synchronized Skating is out of Lakeland Arena.  The following teams will be performing at this year’s Meridian Winter Blast.

Creative Edge Beginner Black Synchronized Skating Team - New York, New York

Creative Edge Beginner Red Synchronized Skating Team - The Princess and the Frog

 

GREAT EXPRESSIONS HOCKEY SHOT COMPETITION

The hockey competition is back! Meridian Winter Blast challenges festivalgoers with a hockey shot competition presented by Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC). Throughout the weekend, attendees will have a chance to shoot and score cool prizes from GEDC, Winter Blast and the Detroit Red Wings. The grand-prize winner will win a choice of a free set of Invisalign braces from Dr. Sonia Kang at the GEDC Troy office valued at $5,000. The competition will take place on the ice rink at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 5 p.m. Sunday.
